Although there are many similarities between online portfolio and traditional portfolio, they differ in many ways.
First of all, there are some important similarities between online p. and traditional p. such as purpose, draft and deadline. The most important similarity is the purpose. Both portfolios have the same aim which is to improve your language and your writing skill. In addition, in traditional portfolios, students make mistakes and teachers check the mistakes, so students write draft. The final similarity is deadline. Like online portfolio, traditional portfolio assignment are prepare in a deadline.
Despite their similarities, online portfolio and traditional differ. The first difference is ease. On the one hand, traditional portfolio is difficult to carry and share. You also waste many papers and a lot of time. On the other hand, online portfolio is portable, not bulky and there is no possibility of losing. You always have a copy saved. Unlike traditional portfolio, online p. is easy to share. You can also male comments on it. The last difference is visuality. In contrast, in online portfolio, you add pictures, songs and many other effects to your assignment which becomes made effective.
To sum up, traditional portfolio and online portfolio have similarities and also differences. I think that online portfolio is practical than traditional portfolio.
